Because…

  • One monitoring solution doesn’t fill all needs : Very distributed IT (Cloud, virtualization…) makes difficult to have just one monitoring solution.
  • Reporting on our activity : Both technical and business reports.
  • Flat vision is not reality : We have no global to detail tree representation.
  • root cause of an incident or problem : Hard to do some root cause analysis and to find impact on the business

Complete the facts

We want …

  • “Nice” interactive charts.
  • Trends and forecasting on performance datas
  • The possibility to indicate business criticity on ressources
  • Federate, aggregate and correlate informations form differents datas sources and types.
  • Internal or external (CMDB, inventory) Referential of IT ressources. The possibility to link them each others.
  • Communicate about health of IT with non technical people.
  • Align technical and business vision of IT.

Canopsis, first Open Source hypervisor

Canopsis is a young project started at the beginning of 2011 by the french SSLL Capensis. It is also now supported by various partners (i.e. OSEO and European Community). Canopsis comes with a AGPL3 licence, you’re free to use it and share. You can have a look at the architecture of Canopsis.

  1. A developper preview release is already available to download and test.
  2. A easy installer and documentation make possible to test the whole solution in less than 10 mn.

Where are we going ?

We want to integrate to Canopsis datas coming from various sources and from differents types (performance, availability, events datas). We should be able to construct dashboards that mix such datas. Here’s the roadmap 2012 for the project.

Be part of the monitoring (r)evolution

We need peoples as much for documentation, translation, support, reflexions, tests as we need developpers. We want you to make Canopsis not only the first Open Source but also the best one available.
